Anne Gilchrist

April 7, 2018

GILCHRIST, Anne Dorothy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Anne on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Anne was born on April 25, 1926 to William and Bessie Pilbeam in Regina, SK. She was raised there along with her 6 siblings William, John, Donald, Betty, May, and Margaret. Anne spent many years as an executive secretary at BA Oil up until she met and married her husband of 65 years, Walter Gilchrist in 1953. Shortly after, they were ecstatic with the arrival of their son Robert in 1959, who she was immensely proud of and doted on up until her last days. Through these years the family enjoyed camping, being active in their local community church, 5 pin bowling league, and being the most dedicated Roughrider fans. She and Walter were also very involved in Eastern Star. After accepting a transfer, the family moved to Esterhazy, SK in 1972 and from there, following Walter’s retirement in 1987 moved to Saskatoon to join their son Rob and his family. They purchased an R.V. and enjoyed many camping trips and treasured memories. Her loving husband Walter passed in March of 1993, and with that she moved to her condo in 1994 where she sat on the condo board for many years. In the 24 years that she spent living in her condo, her hobbies included needlepoint, watching football and curling, and spending time with friends and family. Left to cherish her memory are her son Rob (Sherri), granddaughters Amber and Ashley, and her great-grandchildren Perry, Liam, Cash, and Kenai. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9). A Graveside Family Memorial will be held at a later date. The family thanks everyone for their kind words and condolences. Arrangements in care of David Schurr – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200
