It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadette “Bernie” Hoffert, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister after a short battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Rose and Anton Huck, her sisters, Cecile (1) and Annette, son Murray, brothers-in-law Louis, Elmer and Robert “Bob”, and her son-in-law Mike. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Allen, her daughters Adrienne (Steve) Prpich, Maureen (Ken) Bzdel, Susan Sookeroff and Brian Hoffert (Jacqueline Gerroir), 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Dolores, Cecile, Rosemary, and Charlotte, and her brothers, Francis, Michael (Shirley) and Charles (Debbie), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bernie was a well-loved vibrant, active person that enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a talented singer with a beautiful voice. She treasured her family and was always proud of their achievements. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, going to the casino, Saturday lunches and celebrations with her friends. She was an avid sports fan and diligently watched the Roughriders, curling, hockey, golf, and tennis. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A Vigil for Bernadette will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13. Both services will be held at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church (1902 Munroe Ave. S.) in Saskatoon. The Celebrant will be Fr. Ephraim Mensah. A Private Family Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK S4P 2R3).
