Brian “Yo” passed away just as he had wanted, at home surrounded by his family and very special friends. Left to hold him in our hearts are his wife of 34 years, Judy; daughter Keegan (Jordan) Yakielashek; son Stuart (Shelby); mother Doreen Symenuk; brother Brent (Brenda), an extensive Symenuk family; mother-in-law Violet Nutter; the Nutter family; as well as many close friends. Brian grew up in Saskatoon and worked for Canada Post, retiring after 35 years. He then worked part time delivering flowers for Bills House of Flowers. Brian had a passion for travelling, golf, hockey, football and fishing. He was a devoted family man and true friend. Brian had a terrific wit and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. The family would like to thank all the people who treated and supported Brian with compassion and friendship throughout his cancer journey. A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Mayfair United Church (902 33rd St. W.) in Saskatoon. Officiating will be Rev. David Moors. A Private Family Interment will take place at a later time. In Brian’s memory the family would appreciate that memorial donations be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre (20 Campus Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4).
