Cheryl Millikin

It is with profound sadness that the many loved ones of Cheryl Heather Millikin announce her passing on August 1, 2017. She was born October 8, 1961 in Big River, SK where she was raised in a musical family well known around those parts. Always a free spirit and kind soul, Cheryl loved art, nature, design, and acting. After graduating from the National Theatre School in Montreal, her highly respected skills as a Stage Manager took her across Canada, as well as to many other countries. For the last 25 years she lived in Edmonton - although she returned to the boreal forest near Big River every summer to visit her many friends and Stage Manage the Ness Creek and Bluegrass festivals. Cheryl was predeceased by her parents Doris and Jack, her infant sister Janice Lee, and her niece Ashley Olson. She is survived by her beloved siblings Stan (Geri), Leslie Belle (Dave), and Don (Gwen), as well as cherished nieces and nephews: Sheldon, Rhonda, Kevin, Gavin, Lyndsey, and Leslie. A Celebration of Life will take place Tuesday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Mayfair United Church (902 33rd Street W, Saskatoon). The family is grateful to the doctors and staff in Palliative Care at St. Paul’s Hospital for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Jack Millikin Centre (C/O The Ness Creek Cultural Rec. Society, 804 Dufferin Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7H 2B8) in Cheryl’s name. “A journey is best measured in friends rather than miles.” Tim Cahill. Arrangements in care of Chelsea Krentz – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
