Born to Christian parents John and Mary Boehmer on December 9th, 1933, in the farm home near Walpole, Saskatchewan, she attended Bethany, a country school until grade 6. While in the Bethany school district, where the family held church service along with other believers, she was baptized and confirmed her faith in God.

In the spring of 1946 the family farm, near Bethany School, was turned over to her oldest brother John and his wife Edith, after his return from serving in the army in World War II. When the remaining family moved to the edge of town of Walpole to farm there, Flora continued school in Walpole until grade 10; taking grades 9 & 10 by correspondence.

In the fall of 1951 she moved to Regina, Saskatchewan for further education and enrolled at Success Business College for one term and began working as a dictation and typing steno. She worked short terms for 2 companies before settling into a government office for approximately 4 years for the Department of Administrator of the Estates of the Mentally Incompetent.

On November 10th, 1956, she was married in the Walpole, Saskatchewan United Church to Ralph Roger Burke and resided on his uncles’ homestead until spring at which time they moved to Estevan, Saskatchewan.

Flora was mother to three sons James Luther (1958), Gillis Martin (1959), Jordan Ralph (1962). The family moved to Saskatoon in 1961 and after relocating a few times in the city, Flora & Ralph settled in at 9 John East Avenue for nearly 45 years. Flora made a home for her family, kept a lovely garden, hosting many friends, family and missionaries over the years. In 2009 they moved into Villa Royale in the same Saskatoon neighbourhood.

Flora passed away at 9:55 PM, March 2nd following a day of family visits. She had endured a lengthy struggle with respiratory illness. She is survived by husband Ralph of 61 years, 3 sons and their families, including 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
