Michael Grace died from cancer on August 17 at home, as was his wish. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Joan, and his children, Matthew and Lindsay (Chad Hoffer). Michael was born to Thomas Joseph Grace and Mary Elizabeth Grace in Tisdale, SK, the second oldest of eight children. A proud alumnus of Saskatoon’s Holy Cross High School, Michael not only excelled at football, he led the “Reach For The Top” squad. A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, College of Commerce in 1980, Michael started his own corporate finance advisory firm, Kingsmere Capital. Mike’s devotion to his family was evident in everything he did. He was committed to his community, and especially to his kids’ activities. He and Joan were their biggest fans. Michael was a creative cook, a demanding bridge partner, and unbeatable at Trivial Pursuit. Mike was naturally and effortlessly witty, always the smartest, funniest person in the room. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his siblings, Susan Andrews Grace (Gord), Melanie, Thomas (Hanna), James (Lee), Maureen Lux (Glen), Robert, Peter (Cathy), and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the Michelangelo Room at Saskatoon’s Radisson Hotel at 7:00 p.m., program at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9) are appreciated.
