EWANISHIN, Mike Nick
November 21, 1945 – April 7, 2018
Mike passed away at the age of 72 at Saskatoon City Hospital. He was born in Humboldt, SK to Annie (nee Polanik) and Thomas Ewanishin and grew up in Bruno, SK. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Ewanishin (nee Borisko); his daughter Wendy Matthews; his daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Brent Bouthillette; and grandchildren Owen, Heidi, and Adam Bouthillette. He is also survived by his siblings Roman (Sheila) Ewanishin, Antonia (Mike) Siermachesky, and Tony (Sandra) Ewanishin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mike worked at Freightliner Trucks for 39 years and retired in 2011. He took a part-time job after that driving CN and CP workers to their railway worksites until 2014. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and hunting when he was in good health. Mike suffered from COPD, which limited his activities in the last couple years. He enjoyed visiting “the shop” where he had worked and talking to friends and family. Mike loved hearing about his grandkid’s achievements in school and sports. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12th at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street) in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mike to the Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
