In the arms of his loving wife, we share the passing of Ray on February 24, 2018. The youngest of 9 children, he was born on the family farm near Blaine Lake, SK in 1934. The farm life nurtured his passion for successfully training horses. He had a hard work ethic and was a dedicated man. During his farming career which spanned over more than half a century, he was involved in mixed farming. Since his retirement, Ray enjoyed the simple things, spending sunny days quadding in the pasture with Julie by his side. He treated his family and friends to tailgate picnics and wiener roasts, showing off his beautiful horses and picturesque views. Gardening and preserving fruits of harvest had become a passion they shared. Ray entertained many with his sense of humour and ready repertoire of jokes. He will be missed by many. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Julie; daughter Linda Raby (Chuck Umphrey); son Gordon Pool (Shirley Markowski) and his children Travis (Jill) Pool, Nancy Pool and their mother, Rachelle Talarski (Merv Yasieniuk); son Donn (Nicole) Pool and their children Jadon and Dylan Pool; step-son Lionel (Debbie) Casavant and his children Kira (Daniel) Epp, great-granddaughter Kaylee Epp, and Clay Casavant. He also leaves his brother Frank (Ann) Pool; mother-in-law Rose Boutin; several siblings-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He joins in eternal peace his parents John and Mary Pool; as well as seven siblings and their spouses. To honour Ray, take time to appreciate everyone you love. Make a difference, share a smile, laugh and love. The Liturgy of the Word will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church (104 2nd Ave.) in Blaine Lake, SK with Fr. Doug Jeffrey, OMI as Celebrant.
