Robert DouglasDecember 24, 2016
We, the family of Robert (Bob) Douglas, sadly announce his passing the morning of Dec24/2016 at Extendicare in Saskatoon.
He was born July 10, 1933 in Lashburn and grew up on the family farm south of Waseca with his parents, sister and brother. The majority of his life was spent in the Waseca area before moving to Turtle Lake and eventually to Saskatoon. He was a hard worker, always having at least one other job while still farming. In his spare time he was involved on many different boards, in a few different service clubs and in many community events. He was always willing to lend a hand when needed. He enjoyed the simple things in life: farming, his family, his community, sports, woodworking, volunteering at the WDM and his life at the lake. During his lifetime he made many friends and was known for his gift of gab. You could count on him to entertain you with his many jokes and stories or by his acting in the Waseca Plays. The Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Edmonton Oilers, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Jeff Stoughton curling team were his favorite sports teams.
Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife Lynn and his children and grandchildren: Robin (Wayne), Laurie (Kenneth, Lynnita and Louise), Rick (Lorie), Dara (Darren, Bryson & Taylor) and Randy (Andrew & Brody), his brother Bill (Gladys), his nieces Bev (Bob) and Brenda (Doug), extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents William and Maude Douglas, his sister and brother-in- law Catherine and Jack Freeston, nephew John (Loretta) and niece Sharilyn.
We would like to graciously thank the Staff at Preston Extendicare Saskatoon for all their care, smiles and laughter.
We would also like to thank Mourning Glory for their caring services.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Waseca Community Hall in Waseca, SK.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the McClure Place Foundation in Saskatoon.
