RODERICK W. BURNETT

September 30, 1929 - October 6, 2017

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Rod at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 88.  Rod was born in Sutherland and attended Sutherland Public School and City Park Collegiate.  He joined the RCMP August, 1948 to 1950. He married Shirley, and then started a career in General Insurance in 1952, retiring April 2014.  Rod was predeceased by his loving wife Shirley January 30, 2010.  He is survived by his three children, Rod, Betty (Don Reardon), Susan (Bob Nicol); three grandchildren Michael (Joleen) Burnett,  Matt (Steph) Soroski, Kendahl (Elwood) Heroux; seven great grandchildren, Jared, Kaylee, Brandon, MacKenzie, Jacob, Kenley and Lucia; sisters Joyce (Art Taylor), Bev (Menno Geisbrecht); and many nieces and nephews.  At Rod’s request there will be a Private Family Memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the WA-WA Shrine Patient Transportation Funds (℅ WA-WA Shrine Centre, 2065 Hamilton Street Regina, SK S4P 2E1).  The family would like to thank the many Doctors, Nurses and Care Providers at Preston Park II, Sherbrooke Community Centre and St. Paul’s Hospital for the compassion, kindness and care extended to Rod.  Cremation arrangements in care of John Schachtel of Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200 www.mourningglory.ca
