With heavy hearts, the family of Wade McKinney announce his passing on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Wade grew up on the family farm in Alberta with his 10 siblings. He left home at age 18, worked in the oil fields, completed his training and spent the last 25 years of his career as a heavy duty mechanic at the Dundurn military base. Wade had a strong work ethic that carried over to his home life. He was a talented horse driver, trainer, and harness maker, and spent many years of his life honing his craft and sharing it with others. Wade is lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Velva; his children, Marla and Darren; stepchildren, Dwayne (Mary), Donna (Ken), and Deanna (Garth); 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan, Sharon, Gwen (Dave); brothers, Lyle (Sandy), Glen (Marian), Dale (Jean), Murray (Velma), Keith (Vi), Brian (Linda) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Andrea, in infancy, parents Arnold and Jean, stepmother Mabel, brother Alan, sister-in-law Jean, and brothers-in-law John McAllister, Peter Cornelssen and Ron Prier. Donations will be graciously accepted to Parkinson Society Canada or any charity of choice. The funeral service to celebrate Wade’s life will be held Saturday June 3, 11:00 a.m. at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street) in Saskatoon.
