William "Bill" Styranko
William (Bill) Styranko
We are very saddened to announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Bill, on July 4, 2017. He was a source of great love and great strength for all of us. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Pearl and Peter. He is survived by his sister, Jennie; his aunt Vicki; sisters-in-law Winnie, Maxine, Sheila and Mary Lou, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill will be dearly missed by his wife Jean of 58 years; Sheldon (Kathy), Danielle, Reid and Nikki; Gina (John) and Katherine; Patti (David), Vicki (Tanner), Anya and Callie, Matthew (Kagan); Cory (Anesys), Josephine, Isabella and Sebastian. Bill was born near Makaroff, Manitoba. He left the farm at an early age to work in construction in various parts of Canada, coming into contact with the asbestos that eventually caused his death. Later, he spent many years with Saskatoon Chemicals, where he enjoyed mentoring summer students, who even now remember him well. Bill was young-at-heart and enjoyed playing with his young grandchildren, who returned his love and attention whole-heartedly. He enjoyed camping, traveling, building unique bicycles, making and beading beautiful leather mitts, restoring his 1931 Ford “Vicky” hotrod, and volunteering at his church. He was always ready to lend a hand and enjoyed a busy retirement. His life was enriched by our extended family and many good friends. The family would like to thank the many health professionals that assisted Bill at home and in hospital. Thank you Pastor Mark Kleiner for your care and support. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Christ Church (Anglican), Avenue “E” and 28th Street West. If you wish, in his memory, the family would appreciate a donation to Christ Church or your favorite charity.
Bill would wish you God’s blessings.
