It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Roth, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother (Gee-Gee), who died peacefully in her home in Saskatoon, surrounded by her family, after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Edna was born on July 23rd, 1932 in Shell River (Shell Lake, SK). While working in Saskatoon she met and married the love of her life, Wendelin (Wayne) Roth on June 23rd, 1951. She enjoyed spending countless hours filling the freezer with her baking, cabbage rolls and chili. Family gatherings were frequent at her house spending hours playing cards and board games late into the night. Edna worked for 29 years at Porteous Lodge as a nurse's aide and then as a physical therapist assistant before retiring in 1997. Edna was predeceased by her husband Wayne in 1990; her parents, Ophelia and George; sister and brother-in-law, Melvina and Modest; and two brothers, Paul and Francis. Edna is survived by her four children, daughters, Annette (Dennis) Zatrepalek; Janine (Bob) McLeod; sons, John; Allan (Marian); eight grandchildren, Brent (Tennille), Kara (Paul), Chelsea, Kayla, Caitlin, Brandon, Dustin and Dalton; four great grandchildren, Logan, Austin, Kortney and Julie; three brothers, Hector (Ann), Albert (Linda), Robert (Sandra); one sister, Rita (Bob) and sisters-in-law, Betty and Gail.
