Ross Bell
1950 to 2012
Ross passed away in the early morning of June 6, 2012 at his home in Saskatoon after a short illness. Ross was born and raised in Carrot River, Sk. to Layton and Elda Bell. He married Gisele (nee Hounjet) at Carrot River in 1973. They moved and worked for 2 years in Norway House, Manitoba before returning to Saskatoon. He received his Power Engineering Certificate from SIAST, Kelsey and served as Chief Engineer at the Saskatoon Centennial Auditorium from 1975 until his retirement in 2005. Ross was a skilled craftsman, building and renovating homes. He took pride in constructing several homes in Saskatoon and area, including the family home in Saskatoon and cabin at Candle Lake. He was an avid outdoors-man and loved boating, fishing, and hunting. Ross was the recipient of a liver transplant in 2007. The family thanks Dr. Ganguli for making his liver transplant possible. Ross was predeceased by infant son, Glen (1973); his mother, Elda Bell (1994); and father, Layton Bell (2005). He leaves to be mourned by his wife, Gisèle; daughter, Joanne (Scott McPhee); grandson, Jamie McPhee and expected granddaughter; daughter, Wendy (Ben Higgins); and grandson, Nathanial Bell; daughter, Lisa Poirier (Laurier Poirier) and granddaughter, Maia; grandsons, Makeo and Kobi and son, Joey Bell (Stephanie Yeboah); sister, Linda Davis (Gary Davis) and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Place) on Friday, June 8th, 2012. The Rite of Committal and lunch will follow.
