JOSEPH "Joe" PAUL WILKE
September 19th, 1923 - June 14th, 2012
Joe went home to be with his Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ on the evening of June 14th, 2012. He is loved and remembered by his wife, Olga; son, James (Brigitte); grandchildren, Jyllenna, Bronson, Sheldon, Nicole and Melissa; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter (Anne-Marie) and Loren (Fern); and brother-in-law, Joe Basset. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Aurelia; son, Lee; infant sister, Marion; sister, Verla Basset and brother, Raymond. Joe was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and community volunteer. Being the strong, silent and extremely reliable type, those who knew him trusted and counted on him. He selflessly made every opportunity available for his family being the ever present skilled handyman, coach, manager, chauffer and supporter. Joe was known to live by the adages "if it is worth doing, it is worth doing right" and "if there is a will, there is a way". The Vigil for Joe will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18th and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19th. Both services held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church (602 Boychuk Drive). Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (101, 440 - 2nd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2C3).
