We are always interested in hearing from the families that we serve. Please take a moment to let us know how well we served you in your time of need. We very much appreciate your feedback.
Our family will be reaching a year since our beautiful daughter and sister passed away on August 29, 2020. Losing Alana was the hardest tragedy in our lives. Meeting Travis Minor last year was a God Sent. If it wasn't for his gentle auora and kind words, I don't know if we would have gotten all the special planning for the death of Alana. Morning Glory Funeral Home treated us with such Love and Compassion for our loss, I will be forever greatful. We ordered the finger print pendant of our daughter to help us have a great memorial of her, and in the past month we ordered 3 more finger prints, and the professionalism of Travis was amazing, I see him as a friend and a great representative for his position. Thank you Morning Glory Funeral Staff for all your Love and compassion. Sincerely, Marilyn Kjelgren
I would like to thank John and his team at mourning glory. They looked after my Dad (John Morrison) funeral with great care and comfort. Very professional and took care of all details for us in difficult times ! Thank you John and team !!
I would like to take this opportunity to pass along the Mark family’s sincere thanks for Mourning Glory’s unsurpassed customer service related to our father Dave Mark’s recent celebration of life. Based upon the previously positive experience that I had working with you, it was without hesitation that I entrusted your firm to handle my Dad’s arrangements. All of Mourning Glory’s personnel we encountered from the initial transfer to the interment were friendly, compassionate, and attentive individuals. We were extremely pleased you were able to personally handle my Dad’s arrangements as your sincerity, professionalism, and trustworthiness are always appreciated. On this particular occasion, it was also a pleasure working with Marlene Froese. Mourning Glory’s open and straightforward approach to options and pricing made it simple for us to plan Dad’s celebration of life. At no point did we ever feel pressured to spend more than what we felt was necessary to achieve what Dad would have wanted. Mourning Glory worked cooperatively with the family in planning and coordinating the celebration to ensure it ran smoothly. Details pertaining to our preferences, traditions, etc. were respected and accommodated in all aspects of the arrangements from the visitation through to the interment. While it’s not under ideal circumstances that we get the opportunity to work with you, we do take a lot of comfort in knowing when the inevitable occurs, the arrangements will be the least of our concerns when entrusted with Mourning Glory. Sincerely, Ray Mark on behalf of Dave Mark’s family.
Our mother passed away on March 18, 2019 at home. From the first phone call to Mourning Glory we knew we were in good hands. David Schurr and his assistant came to pick up our mother within one hour of us calling. His gentle handling of Mom as he placed her on the stretcher ensuring her head was made comfortable to the professional manner as they loaded her in the van David assumed care for her as if it was his own family member. He then sat at the kitchen table and took time to inform us what to bring to the office the next day and what forms he would complete to help my Dad with the government paperwork.
Upon our arrival at the Mourning Glory office we felt compassion and sympathy by all of the staff. Again David explained everything and took all the time to clarify our questions. Never did we feel rushed or pressured and he was accepting of all of our requests. We chose to use the Windsor Chapel which was an exceptional facility. It was accessible to all and had all the necessary technology available to provide a slideshow. They even streamed the service on the web at no extra cost to us. This was so helpful to allow the family in other continents the opportunity to “attend “the service. The catering group that provided the lunch at David’s suggestion offered the guests a high quality lunch of which we were given any leftovers. Once again the quality was important to us and we were not disappointed. The professionalism by the staff that assisted our family through the service and interment demonstrated a skillset not commonly seen.
David definitely made this difficult time easier and he made a true difference in our lives. Our family highly recommends Mourning Glory to assist anyone experiencing a loss in their family. We were treated as if the only family in need was ours, and that our mother’s service was their absolute priority. Our only disappointment was that we could not clone David Schurr and his staff to help in other cities (as many of us were from outside of Saskatoon). Thank you David, you made such a difference in our lives. You compassion and true commitment to us will never be forgotten.

My younger brother passed away suddenly only a short time ago. I contacted Mourning Glory the evening on the day of Keith's passing. Mourning Glory had looked after cremation services for our parents on two previous occasions. So it was an easy decision to utilize Mourning Glory's Services for my brother. The Memorial Service was held at Prairieland Park and over 700 family, friends, and coworkers attended.
David made all the arrangements, ensured he had sufficient staff and the Memorial Service ran very smooth and provided everyone the chance to say goodbye.
I want send a special thank you to David Schurr, Chelsea Krentz, John Schachtel, and all the Mourning Glory Team that asssisted us in making Keith's Memorial Service the special day it was.
Thank you for your professionalism, for your words of wisdom, for your caring, for your attention to every detail, for your respect in dealing with all the questions you were asked, for your knowledge, and especially for being there, for all of us.
John, David, Chelsea, you folks are without a doubt, the best folks to deal with in our time of need.
