STIGLICH, Amanda Leona
1932 – 2018
It is with heartfelt sadness the family of Amanda Stiglich announce her passing on May 22, 2018 at Wheatland Lodge in Leask, SK. Amanda was born on February 8, 1932 in the Meadow Grove district, SK to the late Hilda and Leo Ferster. She was predeceased in death by her husband Joseph; son Bruce; daughter-in-law Denise; brothers Don (Nola) (and nephew Robin), Albert and Allan; brothers-in-law Steve, Frank, Sylvester, John and Jack; and sisters-in-law Barbara and Muriel. Amanda is lovingly remembered by her sons Dennis (Deanna) and Wayne (Coleen); grandchildren Rachel (John) Jenkins, Myles (Sheryl) Burke; great-grandchildren Arthur, Lorilei, Jaden, Hunter and Silas; brother Gordon (Gail); sisters-in-law Bernice and Helen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Amanda raised her family on the farm in Leask, SK. She contributed to the farm in so many ways. The farm community brought many forms of fellowship to her family such as hockey games, and Leask sports day. Amanda belonged to the women’s curling and bowling leagues with many dear friends. She always gave a helping hand in her community when it was needed with warmth and a smile. She took pride in her garden, always bigger than necessary in order to share the bounty with family and friends. She canned most of her harvest which looked like a sea of colour. Amanda was always very welcoming to new friends and showed delight in pleasing her family and friends with her beautiful dinners and her famous rice pudding. She is deeply missed. Thank-you to her second family at Wheatland Lodge who made her last home the best it could be. The Stiglich family will be forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation be made to the Wheatland Lodge. A Celebration of Amanda’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor St.) in Saskatoon. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
