April 18, 1936 – May 28, 2018
With great sadness the family of Carl Steinbach announces his passing on Monday, May 28, 2018 from complications of COPD/heart. He is dearly loved and missed by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Viola; his daughters Donna (Felix), Joan (Barry) and Evelyn (Rick) - Papa was so proud of “my girls.” He is missed by grandchildren Chrissy (Joe) and Megan - had so much love for you all; his great-grandchildren Kayla, Cody, Katie, Bella, Josh and Maddie - the proudest great-grandpa. Carl came from a large family and loved them all. He was “Carl” and he loved to have fun, sometimes even at his own expense as he wanted his family and friends to be happy. He loved to sing and knew so many moldy oldies and sang them all. Carl was a success at everything he did and enjoyed his work, helping his family and friends, a true farmer through and through; when he couldn’t work he watched and he noted all. He loved the get-togethers of AA groups, neighbors, sing-alongs, corn roasts, Good Sams, Danielson campers, card parties and family gatherings. With God’s grace, he loved life.... and loved large. He often said to us “I’m gonna miss you all so much when I go.” A special thanks to all of those involved in Carl’s final hours. The Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (3339 Centennial Drive) in Saskatoon. Arrangements in care of David Schurr – Mourning Glory Funeral Services.
