"Chuck" Joseph Charles Parent

August 30, 1953 - June 29, 2019

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph “Chuck” Charles Parent, 65, of Saskatoon, SK.  Chuck passed away peacefully in his home, on Saturday, June 29, 2019, with his wife by his side, after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Chuck was born on August 30, 1953 in Spiritwood, SK.  He left home at the age of 15 and moved to Saskatoon to seek employment.  Chuck worked various jobs but spent the last 25 years working at Wilco until retiring in 2018 after being diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2017.  In 1979 he met the love of his life, Bev Pylatuik, and they made their home in Saskatoon, SK for the last 40 years.  Chuck’s greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his family and friends and the time he and Bev spent at their cabin at Besnard Lake.  He loved to go camping, fishing and hunting and his friends and family all have stories of the antics they got up to during these times.  Chuck appeared a little rough around the edges but he had a wonderful sense of humour and would give the shirt off his back to help out a friend or family member.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bev; his siblings and their families:  Laurette (Omer+) Bourassa, Elsie (Jack+) Mitchell, Archie (Faye+) Parent, Leonel (Beverly) Parent, Rene Parent, Marcel Parent, Annette (Paul) Matte, Eyvette (Dennis Landon); brother-in-law Gerald Cummins; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.  He was predeceased by his parents Joe (1988) and Lea (1993); brother Harvey Parent (1948); sisters Marguerite Cummins (2008) and Oriol Belgar (2018); nieces Melissa-Ann Cummins (1972) and Sandra Mitchell (2014); nephews Gerald Parent (1991), Michael Matte (2011) and Marcel Jr Parent; as well as numerous family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (101 – 440 - 2nd Ave. N, Saskatoon, SK  S7K 2C3) or to any charity of the donor’s choice.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon).  The interment will take place at a later date at the Laventure Cemetery in Spiritwood, SK.  Arrangements are in care of Aime Laventure – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200 www.mourningglory.ca
