Dalton passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the age of 76. Dalton is survived by his loving wife Anne (nee Heer); son David (Myra); daughter Patty (Greg); daughter Debbie (Al); grandchildren Ian (Shannon), Katie (DY), Brent, Dillon, Kayla (Brendan) and Chloe; step-grandchildren Chase, Tate and Reese; sister Alexis; nephew Kirk (Kelly) and children; niece Sandy (Tim) and children; brother-in-law Paul (Roberta) and family; brother-in-law Peter (Val) and family; as well as numerous friends. He was predeceased by his mother Alexina; father Ivan; son-in-law Blair; mother-in-law Yvonne; father-in-law Ewald; and brother-in-law Al. Dalton was born in Hamiota, MB. He met the love of his life, Anne in Prince Edward Island while stationed at CFB Summerside as a radio navigator in the Royal Canadian Air Force. They married October 3, 1964. After moving to Saskatoon Dalton worked for CN Rail and VIA Rail as a locomotive engineer for 36 years. He was a unique human being, a creature of habit, set in his ways and stubborn but nothing was more important than the happiness of his family, making sure every occasion was celebrated with a piece of cake. Dalton was very proud of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments, and cherished the time spent having coffee with his friends. He enjoyed shopping, books, TV, movies, crossword puzzles and trivia, and was an avid sports fan. In particular, he loved watching the Roughriders, Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Every week he waited to be the next millionaire, using the same lottery numbers every time for 25 years. Some of Dalton’s favourite times were spending time at the oceanside cottage in PEI during the summer months. At Dalton’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A Private Family Committal will be held at the Columbarium at St. John’s in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association (1231 8th St. E., Saskatoon, SK S7H 0S5). Arrangements in care of Chelsea Krentz – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
