Dwayne Aldon Andreen
His wings were ready, but our hearts were not. It is with great sadness that the family of Dwayne Aldon Andreen announces his passing after a two-year battle with cancer, on August 4, 2018 at the age of 63. Dwayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Shirley; children Kenneth (Heather) and Kimberly (Daniel); his grandchildren Jaiden and Sydney and his sister Sherry Olver (Grant and Family). Dwayne will also be remembered by his numerous sisters-in-law, bothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Dwayne is predeceased by his parents Aldon and Eunice Andreen.
Dwayne’s soul mate and greatest love was Shirley and together they enjoyed spending the summer’s at Waskesiu Lake with family; winter’s in Hawaii and trips to Las Vegas in the spring and fall. Dwayne also loved and enjoyed spending time at Calm Lake where he made many great memories with family and friends.
Dwayne was very involved with senior men’s baseball and has been nominated to be inducted to the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame. Dwayne will also be remembered for his love and dedication to the ringette community. In honor of this devotion and hard work Dwayne was inducted into the Ringette Hall of Fame in the fall of 2017. Dwayne’s legacy will live on with Shaughnessy Appliance Services Ltd. and The Waskesiu Lake Lodge, two businesses he was extremely proud to have been a part of.
Please join is for a come and go celebration of life that will be held to honor Dwayne at The Willows (Dreher Room) 382 Cartwright St Saskatoon, SK on Friday August 10, 2018 between 1:00 and 4:00. At his request a formal funeral service will not be held.
In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations in honor of Dwayne be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Haider and the staff at the Saskatchewan Cancer Clinic as well as the staff in the Palliative care unit at St. Paul’s Hospital for all their care and compassion.
