SAKOWSKI, Edward Stanley
On Thursday, October 25, 2018, Edward Stanley Sakowski; husband, father, gigi, and great gigi, was called to the Lord. Ed was born in Wakaw on July 22, 1938 to Mike and Josephine Sakowski. Ed was predeceased by his daughter, Debbie Haanen. He will be greatly missed by his wife Verna, married 58 years; and his loving family Gayle (Bob) Scheidl, Brett (Mel), Lane (Caroline). Zenia (Glen) Dziadyk, Stephanie (Reagan) Baliski, Koston and Ayla. Clark (Nicole) Dziadyk, Charlotte and Carson. Lyle Haanen, Melanie, Jennifer and Ben. Edward took great pride in his career in sales. This was evident when Ed and his wife Verna purchased Alumiseal in 1969. Over the course of their 20 years, the business flourished due to their love and commitment. After selling Alumiseal, Ed and Verna started a promotional company Ed-Ver Promotions and had many more years of success. Ed loved spending weekends with family and friends at the family cottage at Candle Lake, boating, fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, and hunting. His biggest pride was family and he loved visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed was forced to retire after a life changing illness. His family will be forever inspired by the love and care he received from his amazing wife Verna. Gigi we love you. You will be forever missed. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church (1902 Munroe Ave. S.) in Saskatoon. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Mike Dechant, OMI. The Rite of Committal will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9).
