Ethel Nowoselski

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel Nettie Nowoselski on April 29th, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer. Ethel was born on September 23rd, 1950 to Dmytro and Annie Nowoselski. She grew up on the family farm near Colonsay. Ethel attended Sleaford School, Meacham School and Colonsay School during her younger years. After moving with her family to Saskatoon in 1965, she graduated from Mount Royal Collegiate. Her first summer job was pumping gas for her brother in law at a service station. She then worked briefly at the Bank of Nova Scotia and the Bank of Montreal before moving to Edmonton. She spent many years living in Edmonton and Calgary while doing book keeping for various businesses. In Ethel’s younger years she enjoyed going to dances in Smuts and Alvena. She was the life of the party. She spent time travelling to warm climates in the winter and enjoyed camping during the summer. It was five years ago that she decided to move back to Saskatoon to be closer to her family. During her time in Saskatoon, she enjoyed meeting her friends for their supper club and had recently joined a square dancing group. Some other interests of Ethel’s included gardening, baking, crocheting and knitting. She had a fondness for all animals but especially had a soft spot for dogs. Family was a priority for Ethel. She always remembered everybody’s birthdays and was excited to attend family gatherings. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Dmytro and Annie; sisters Leona and Elizabeth; brother in law Morris and nephews Allan and Dale. Ethel is survived by her brother Ronald (Patricia) and several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 6th at Windsor Chapel, 704 Windsor Street, starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held before the funeral in a private graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Prairie Hospice Society Inc. c/o 716 Queen St. Saskatoon Sk. S7K 0M9.  Arrangements in care of David Schurr – MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES 306-978-5200
