George Alexander Hauck

January 13, 1930 – August 24, 2017

George passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 87. He is dearly loved and remembered by his two daughters, Jacqui (Larry) Sweiger of Hanover, ON, Linda (Phil) Kemmer of Saskatoon; four grandchildren, Andrea (Derek), Jessalynn (Mike), Carlee (Ben), Mitchel; four great-grandchildren, Boston and Finlee, Oliver and Sloan. George was predeceased by his wife Leona and granddaughter Tara; his parents John and Helen, and several brothers and sisters. George was the second youngest of 14 children. His passion was farming. George married Leona (nee Volk) in 1953 and farmed near Superb, SK until moving to Kerrobert to farm in 1966 where they raised their two daughters. In 1974 George retired from farming and moved to Lethbridge for the warmer climate. In 1978 they relocated to Saskatoon to be nearer to family and created “Hauck Construction” to build houses, including for themselves and both daughters. George was very devoted to his wife, family and his religion – serving as a proud Knight. He was a favourite uncle to many and genuinely shared an interest in their lives. He played many card games while socializing with friends and family. He also enjoyed gardening, news and current affairs, politics and of course tuning in to the Parliament channel. The family is especially grateful for the care and support that George received from Trevor and Julie, and staff at Applewood Manor and then most recently from the staff at Samaritan Place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church (217 Lenore Dr.) in Saskatoon. The Celebrant will be Rev. Matthew Ramsay. A Private Family Interment at Reward, SK will be held at a later date. Arrangements in care of David Schurr – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
