Every Christmas for the last 10 years, Dad would say that it was his last one, and so it was. He was born on the homestead in the Laird District: Section 29, Township 42, Range 3, West of the Third Meridian, to Bill and Mary Morris, who moved the family to Rosthern. His upbringing was less than ideal, so he left home at an early age to seek employment and independence. Dad worked for McGavin’s Bakery for nearly 40 years. He loved to hunt, fish, and drink beer with his friends. To welcome him on the next leg of his journey are his beloved wife Esther, daughter Janet, and son Ron; Siblings Florence, Harper, Hazel, Viola, Adela, and Jeannie. Left behind are his daughter Evelle, her husband Bob Lindsay and grandson Zak Lindsay; daughter-in-law Alanna Morris, with grandsons Rylan, Brady, and Carson; in-laws Bill and Josephine, Gladys, Harold, and Eugene, plus numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the nurses and staff on the 7th floor of St. Paul’s Hospital. Your kindness and mercy were greatly appreciated. Special thank you to the staff at Palisades. Per Ghomer’s wishes, there will be no funeral and a private family interment will occur at a later date. No flowers or donations please. Practice a random act of kindness and raise a glass to Ghomer. Arrangements in care of Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
