LIBKE, Gordon Noble

Gordon passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Gordon was born on the homestead in the R.M. of Dundurn on June 24, 1938. He was predeceased by his parents Erwin and Norma; brothers-in-law Martin Dyck, Ron Presnell and John Reeves; sister-in-law Bernice Presnell; and grandson Kyle Reay. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia; children Gloria (Vic), Perry (Donna), Wayne (Linda), Kathy (Dan) and Travis (Shannon); 10 grandchildren Tyler (Erin), Patti (Sam), Amanda, Megan (Shawn), Kirsten (Max), Harley, Rylee (Brad), Shaina (Michael), Kennedi and Leah; as well as 4 great-grandchildren Rowan, Dax, Paige and Ella. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Dyck; sisters-in-law Laverne (Ken) Libke, Jean Reeves and Elaine Presnell; brother-in-law Bill Presnell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon’s life was filled with his love for family, horses, dogs and cattle. He began showing cattle in 4-H at a very young age and was a 4-H leader for 25 years and he passed on his passion for cattle to all the lives he touched. He wasn’t a farmer, he was a true cowboy. He was a member of the Canadian Polled Hereford Association, the Canadian Simmental Association, the American Quarter Horse Association, as well as various other committees. For as much as he touched the lives of others, the imprint he left from his patience, knowledge, integrity and gentle guidance on his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren is beyond words. As per Gordon’s wishes, there will be no public service. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre (20 Campus Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4). Arrangements in care of David Schurr – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
