CORBETT, Ian Joseph

The passing of Ian Joseph Corbett occurred at St. Paul's Hospital on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at the age of 61 years after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be greatly missed by his loving, devoted wife, Lorna Corbett; son Ron (Paula) Corbett and grandson Torin Corbett; son Schaun (Brandy) Corbett, and grandsons Cole and Cooper Corbett; brother Ian (Shonna) McKenzie; uncles and aunts Alex Thorson; Mary (Ernie) Litzenberger; Chester (Joanne) Thorson; Lucy Thorson; in-laws Betty Dvorak, Mary Mitchell, Darlene (Walter) Allen, Kathy Schell, Joe (Nancy) Nikirk, and Gordon Nikirk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Christina Brooks; step-father Gerald Brooks; father Fred Corbett; mother-in-law Anne Nikirk; grandparents Irwin and Greta Thorson; brothers-in-law Patrick Dvorak, Garth Mitchell, Dennis Schell; and cousin Bernie Thorson. After working for more than 40 years in the plumbing and heating industry, he will be sadly missed by many. Ian enjoyed competitive fishing, hunting, quadding, snowmobiling, and spending quality time at the lake with family, friends and new puppy Koda. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to all the doctors, nurses and home care for their support and kindness. The Vigil for Ian will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 9. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 10. Both services will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (211 Ave O South) in Saskatoon with Fr. Graham Hill, C.Ss.R. as celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass, with interment at a later date. Arrangements in care of David Schurr - Mourning Glory Funeral Home (306) 978-5200.
