James (Jim) Maxwell

January 24, 1921 – March 30, 2017

We are so sad to say Jim passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital on Thursday, March 30th, at the age of 96. He was predeceased by his wife Catherine (Chrissie) Maxwell, whom he loved dearly. He was also predeceased by his 6 brothers and sisters. Jim is survived by stepdaughter; Barbara Fraser, granddaughter; Crystal Murfitt and her partner Jay Sotnikow, grandson; Brad (Lori) Fraser and great grandchildren; Brandon, Caylene and Cody, Paige and Ryley, great, great-granddaughter Lennon and sister; Jean Mathieson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was very proud and active in his community of Harris, SK. He was an active Lions member for many years and was so proud to be in the play “Pull of the Land”. He was a very caring and giving person who made a difference in many people’s lives. He spent many years on the Housing Committee and very active in The Harris United church. He will be greatly missed. Jim loved having coffee, serving coffee and looking after his cat. We have to mention his sweet tooth as well. We are so sad to say goodbye to him but glad he lived a long and full life. A time of food and refreshments will take place on April 10, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Harris Tessier New Horizons Hall (214 Main St, Harris, SK S0L 1K) to celebrate Jim’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Harris Cemetery Fund (PO Box 124, Harris, SK S0L 1K0). Arrangements are in care of Natasha Remenda of MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES. (306)978-5200
