SCHUMACHER, Jerome Harvey

April 22, 1930 – September 29, 2018


We are very saddened to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend Jerome. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 66 years Hilde. Also left to mourn his passing are his 6 children Paulette (Maurice), Leigh (Ron), Craig (Charlene), Mark (Aimée), Michael (Wendy) and James (Jessica). He will be fondly remembered by his 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Melford (Wilma), Bernie (Laurie), 1 sister MaryAnne (Randy) Buschman, 6 in-laws Irma Brinkman, Beth (Bill) Hricz, Hilde Willen, Elana Schumacher, Eugene (Carol) Willen and Wilma (Melford) Schumacher, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jerome and Hilde farmed in Donavon and Delisle until 1990. He was a Realtor in Saskatoon for a number of years. Jerome was a man of integrity and humility, always a man of his word. He loved and lived life to the fullest. He was always very social and interested in everyone’s life, especially his children and grandchildren. Jerome was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Helen Schumacher, brother Philip, sister Pauline (Russel) Clark, parents-in-law Joseph and Elizabeth Willen, brothers-in-law Joe Willen, Henry Brinkman and sister-in-law Olga (Verle) Stuckel. A Vigil for Jerome will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018. Both services will be held at the Cathedral of the Holy Family (123 Nelson Rd.) in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM), c/o Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation (1900-701 Queen St., Saskatoon, SK S7K 0M7).
