GINTER, John Peter
John Ginter was born on June 27, 1939 in Rabbit Lake, SK and passed away on June 16, 2018 in Saskatoon. He was raised in Carrot River, SK and married Kaaren Maureen Blenkin on September 15, 1962. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kaaren; 3 sons Kelly Boyd (Jocelyn) Ginter, Carmen John (Hilda) Ginter, Randy Allan (Amy) Ginter; 5 grandchildren Jesse (Janelle), Dylan (Kaytlin), Alyssa, Andrew, Ayden; and 2 great-grandchildren Parker and Grayson. They began their married life living at Nipawin Bible Institute with John fulfilling a variety of duties for 9 years. Following that time, he spent the next 20 years in the pastoral ministry in churches in Davidson, Wetaskiwin, AB and Saskatoon. Upon retiring from pastoral duties, he fulfilled the role of Western Canada Superintendent of Associated Gospel Churches for 12 years. Over the past 14 years, time was divided, with summers spent in Saskatoon, close to family and friends. Winters were enjoyed in the warmth of Arizona with many new and old friends, living up to the motto "Life is Good." Being one to never like sitting still too long, he needed something to occupy his time in retirement, so if he wasn't helping his boys with something, he filled his days being the neighborhood handyman. The good news of his abilities to "fix just about anything" spread quickly and steadily, and by the end he had a lengthy list of regular cliental and very satisfied customers, both down south and here. He will be missed by many. A Celebration of John's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Calvary Church (2810 Louise St. - corner of Louise and Arlington) in Saskatoon. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
