Jude Menard passed away peacefully in her home at Spruce Manor in Dalmeny, SK on Friday September 7, 2018. We are so grateful for the incredible loving care she received there for over 4 years. The staff, volunteers and fellow residents were the best extended family we could have asked for. She just celebrated her 70th birthday this past July with homemade donuts and her granddaughters. Exactly how she would have wanted it. Her smile and silly behavior will be missed by everyone she spent time with. I’m told bingo and morning exercises just aren’t the same without her. We used to joke that she became a mom just so she could have grandchildren and her face when we told her that her dream was coming true assured us that was the case. The girls have been blessed to spend 4 years with her and they will make sure to tell their coming sibling all about their wonderful Meemaw. Jude is survived by her daughter Rebekah Unger (husband Murray, children Fionnuala, Fiora and belly bean due in November), son Lee, step-son Jason Menard (daughter Taylor), step-daughter Kim Porter (husband Stacy and son Andrew), brother Bryan McInnes (wife Toni), twin sister Jennifer Smith (husband Bart), sister Susan (husband Mike), sister-in-law Joy McInnes, brothers-in-law Stan Train, Lynn Merrick, countless nieces and nephews and best friends of 36 years Keith and Sally Haysom. She was predeceased by her oldest son Shane just this past May, her dad Ted McInnes, mom Helen McInnes, step-mom Irene McInnes, brothers Tim McInnes, brother Terry McInnes, sister Sondra Merrick, brother Vincent McInnes, sister Janis Train. Jude couldn’t stand flowers but loved animals so donations in lieu of flowers to the Saskatoon SPCA to help animals in need would be appreciated (5028 Clarence Ave, Grasswood, SK S7T 1A7). A Gathering will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Windsor Chapel – Lower Level (704 Windsor St.) in Saskatoon. Please join us for an informal gathering to say goodbye, share some laughs and enjoy some refreshments. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
