Kathryne Braun

September 29, 2019

BRAUN, Kathryne Lorrie “Kathy”

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kathy Braun, of Saskatoon on September 29, 2019. It is comforting to know that she has joined her husband, David, in peace. Kathy’s daughters, Amy (Filipchuk) Scherger of Kingston, Ashley (Filipchuk) Voth of Saskatoon and Alyssa Filipchuk of Saskatoon, as well as her grandchildren, Peyton Scherger and Deacon Degagne, will lovingly remember her. Kathy leaves behind two beloved brothers, William “Bill” Braun and David Braun, as well as her uncles, Peter Andersen and Leif Andersen along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Her parents, Edith (Andersen) Dowdell and Arpad (Tish) Tusz-Braun, predeceased Kathy. Kathy was born in Ontario on November 11, 1954. She travelled in her youth and eventually decided to settle in Saskatoon to start her family in the early 1980’s. Kathy raised three beautiful and independent daughters while she ran her own business. Kathy had many friends throughout her years and travels who will remember her lively spirit. In recent years, she was an avid volunteer with the walking program for the Special Olympics. Kathy always spoke so highly of the program and truly enjoyed every moment she spent with all involved. She often referred to them as ‘my kids’ and loved the time she spent with everyone. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Special Olympics. Details for a memorial service will be determined at a later date. Arrangements in care of Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
