TROWBRIDGE, LARRY ‘SNIPER’

August 23, 1935 ~ June 5, 2018

Larry was born on August 23, 1935 in Riverhurst, Saskatchewan to Richard George and Celia Eileen (Myers) Trowbridge.  He was the eldest of five children.

Larry started working at Gardner Dam in 1958 and later with the Municipality of Gouldtown, SK where he met, fell in love with and married his wife of 55 years, Anne (nee Hildebrand) Trowbridge on June 29, 1962.  Together they raised three children: Lessa Mae, Norma Jean and Steven Richard.

Larry continued to work road construction in Northern Saskatchewan.  In 1968, he moved his family and took employment with the Allan Potash Corporation relocating to Elstow in 1972 where he remained until his passing.  He retired in 2000 after 32 years of service.

Larry was an adventurous person enjoying many years of chuck wagon and chariot racing.  He actively pursued outdoor adventures, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.  He especially enjoyed the time spent camping and sitting around a campfire with his family, extended family and many friends.  To know Larry is to truly know what is no longer here.

Larry was predeceased by his parents Richard George and Celia and his brother Dale.  He is survived by his wife Anne, daughters Lessa (Dennis) Anderson and Norma (Mitch) Yelich, son Steven (Lilian); grandchildren, Matthew Braun, Jozef Braun, Karalei Tylor, Michael Tylor (Elisa), Kaitlyn Yelich, Brody Yelich, Adam Trowbridge, Marcus Trowbridge; great-grandchildren Joshua Tylor and Annalise Tylor; brothers Bert (Doris) Trowbridge, Wayne Trowbridge; sister Linda Maitland and sister-in-law Inge Trowbridge; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.  A Memorial Service for Larry will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon). A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Larry’s name to St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care Unit (1702 - 20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK  S7M 0Z9).  Arrangements in care of Aimé Laventure at Mourning Glory Funeral Services, (306) 978-5200, www.mourningglory.ca.
