BZDEL, Lawrence Michael
October 30th, 1958 – February 22nd, 2019
Lawrence leaves to mourn his wife Debra; mother Elsie; brother Ken (Maureen); nephew Shaun (Natasha) their children Nathan, Elijah, Samuel and Anna; nephew Paul (Katie). Lawrence was predeceased by his father Michael (2011).
Lawrence, who grew up in Saskatoon, was passionate about sports (football, chess, Formula One), family and his many friends. Lawrence immersed himself in any subject matter that intrigued him. He was committed to accepting challenges with an optimistic and often humorous approach. It is this optimistic approach, with meticulous attention to detail, that suited him for his career in mineral exploration. Lawrence graduated from Evan Hardy Collegiate and later attended the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained a B. Sc. (Geophysics). His work took him to interesting and remote locations in Canada, the United States and Australia [exploring for gold and uranium]. Lawrence had a talent to make work and life fun for all those around him. He saw the humour in all his endeavors and exercised his wit to make life engaging. Lawrence and Debra enjoyed travelling, spending time with friends and had so many more plans to make.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2nd at the German Cultural Centre (160 Cartwright St. E). Funeral arrangements by Mourning Glory (306) 978-5200. Donations can be made to Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan or the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation Close to Home Campaign.
