WALLISER, Lawrence Jacob
August 18, 1947 - December 31, 2019
On December 31, 2019 our brother Lawrence Jacob Walliser left us at the age of 72, after a brief battle with cancer, to join our parents but not before teaching us a valuable lesson... power, strength and determination. Against all odds he wished to make it to Christmas... he did just that because it was what he wanted and no one was going to tell him he couldn’t. Thank you Lawrence for making this Christmas a very special one and being here for us, reminding us what Christmas is really about ... “family and friends getting together.” We learned a lot about you in your last days, your dry sense of humour, how you would roll your eyes when you thought we said something out of context and your patience with us all hanging around. Many times you mentioned to us that you were a bachelor and didn’t need a lot of people fussing over you... but we did and you accepted that to make us feel better. Thank you to Lawrence’s friends who came to visit him and kept his spirits up during his hospital stay, he truly appreciated the company. Lawrence will be remembered by his siblings, Edward (Eileen), Sadie (Lorne) Ulven, Agnes (Jim) Pauli, Anthony (Darlene), Millie, Lottie (Larry) Schwebius, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents Bertha (2008), Robert (1983), and niece Tammy Vandale (1975). A very special thank you to the doctors and staff in St. Paul’s Palliative Care for the amazing compassion and patience you showed towards our brother and for all the times you made him laugh. Rest In Peace dear brother, we will miss you. Our family is honouring Lawrence’s request of no funeral service. A private graveside service will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Lawrence’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation. Cremation arrangements in care of David Schurr – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
