With aching hearts and gentle tears, we said our final goodbye to Linda Marie Lastowsky (née Egeland) on March 14, 2019 at the age of 74 years. Linda was born to Melvin and Margaret (Deverou) Egeland on October 21, 1944 in Saskatoon, SK and was raised in Kyle, SK. She made Saskatoon home for all of her adult life. Through her caring and conscientious service, she touched the lives of so many during her time at the Saskatoon Figure Skating Club. Linda will be profoundly missed by her devoted and loving husband of 53 years, Michael, daughter Laurie (Bob) Friesen, son Brent (Kim) Lastowsky and 6 grandchildren: Brandon (Janelle), Evan, Jaedyn (Brennan), Daylen, Keegan and Charlie. She leaves to mourn, as well, her brother Douglas (Donna Beckwith) Egeland, sister-in-law Nellie Shachtay, Auntie Phil and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda’s happiness and joy in life came from her relationship with her grandchildren, spending as much time as she could at Clearwater Lake, getting lost in the adventures of a good novel, a good Caesar (not too spicy!) and going out for her favourite dinner (liver and onions or cutlets) with her husband. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 10th Street and Munroe Avenue, Saskatoon, with Rev. Leonid Malkov, C.Ss.R. officiating. A Private Family Interment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Linda can be made to Palliative Care Services through St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, 1702 20th St. W, Saskatoon, SK, S7M 0Z9, email firstname.lastname@example.org or SaskAbilities (Saskatchewan Abilities Council), 2310 Louise Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7J 2C7, www.saskabilities.ca. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Spelay and the numerous health care professionals who cared for Linda and her family, especially Carolyn, Lonnie, and the nurses and care aides at SPH Palliative Care.
