Louise Janet Ferguson (nee Phillips)
Louise Janet was born in Birch Hill, SK on February 27th, 1931. She was the second of seven children born to Louis and Annie Phillips. Later the family moved to Prince Albert, SK where she proudly told us she helped with the family’s logging business. She was also able to attend school regularly for the first time. In 1947, she married Kenneth Ferguson and had two children, William and Kenneth Jr. (Kenneth Jr. died in infancy). They later divorced and Louise moved to Saskatoon. Soon after she moved to Saskatoon she began her career at St. Paul’s Hospital as an aid in the laundry department. This is where she met the love of her life, Steve Salahub.
Louise is survived by her son William (Elaine); grandchildren Elaine Jr. (Doug) and their children Drake and Chad; Darlene (Daryl) and their children Jordan and Hailey; Carolyn (Stephen) and their children Kirklin, Walker, and Tyson; William Jr. (Brigitte) and their children Kelsey, Shaelin, Sierra, Bailey and Bella; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her love, Steve; son Kenneth; parents Louis and Annie Phillips; brothers Dave (Madeline), Bill and Art; and sisters Kathleen, Irene (in infancy) and Daisy (Willard).
A Celebration of Life will be held at 602 Lynx Wing, 2407, Avenue C North, in Saskatoon, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020. Interment of her ashes will be at a later date.
