Macrae Mackenzie May

May 1, 2018

August 14,  1980 – May 1, 2018

We are deeply saddened by the death of Macrae John Mackenzie May. He died on May 1, 2018 at the age of 37. We loved him as a son, grandson, father, brother and friend. He leaves to grieve and to remember: his parents Robert Mackenzie (Moliehi) and Marilyn Irwin (Scott); grandmother Eileen Mackenzie; sons Vivian (mother Maureen Ukita) and Atticus (mother Megan Spicer); sister Reesa (Justin), her sons Jacob and Carter, and granddaughter Persephone; and sister Jessica Niyongabo (Kasmet).  Macrae was a kind and gentle man, who had a unique gift as a devoted father. He loved his dogs and they loved him.   He worked most recently applying textured ceilings, a job made all the easier by his height and vast wingspan. He had a remarkable talent as an artist and enjoyed painting, drawing and tattooing. Along the way, he haunted the punk scene in Auckland and Perth, Australia, dove the Great Barrier Reef, and painted his unique artistic creations on just about every surface that stood still ‑ and a few that didn’t.  Macrae had been ill for some time. We prayed for recovery, but the Lord had other plans. We will cry a lot for now; and later, when the tempest of sorrow has passed, will simply remember him with love.  We will be setting up a Trust Fund for Macrae’s two children.  Please contact Robert Mackenzie for particulars. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at St Thomas-Wesley United Church (808 - 20th St W, Saskatoon).  Arrangements are in care of MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICE (306) 978-5200
