KIRKUP, Marilyn Anita (nee Robberstad)
It is with immense sadness we announce the passing of Marilyn Anita Kirkup (Robberstad), our loving and devoted mom, grandma, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on January 8, 2019 at St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born on January 13, 1951 in Beechy, SK, to Harold and Isobel Robberstad. Marilyn grew up on the farm in Lucky Lake, SK and then moved to Saskatoon to go to business college. Marilyn married the love of her life, Raymond Arthur Kirkup, on October 26, 1974 in Lucky Lake, SK. Together they had 3 children, and then 3 grandchildren whom loved them dearly, Michelle (Dean) Wolter, Delani, Breckan, and Colton; Suzanne Kirkup; Kevin Kirkup (Alicia Finch). Marilyn is survived by her brothers, Wayne (Donna) Robberstad, Glenn (Rhonda) Robberstad and Brent (Treena) Robberstad, and sisters-in-law, Olive (Dale) Turgeon and Shirley (Leo) Borsa and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her husband Ray (2009), parents Harold and Isobel, in-laws Cy and Margaret Kirkup, brother-in-law Ken Kirkup, and sister-in-law Sharon Shaw. She will be greatly missed by all of her many close friends who were more like family, and whom she cherished immensely. Our family is very grateful for all of the care our mom received from all of her care teams at RUH, St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care, and for Dr. Dueck and all of the staff at Saskatoon Cancer Centre. A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No.63, 606 Spadina Cres. W. in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in memory of Marilyn to either STARS Air Ambulance Saskatoon or the Saskatoon Cancer Centre.
