GURSKY - Myrna
Myrna was born May 19, 1937 in Kinley, SK. She passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital on October 3, 2018 in Saskatoon after a brief stay in Palliative Care. She will be missed by all her friends and family, including her son, Kim Wyatt (Carri), daughter Lorrie Olson (Ivan), grandchildren Kelsey Ekren (Chad), Teejay Wyatt, Kelli Olson, Dylan Wyatt, Jesse Olson, Mackenzie Wyatt, Grayson Wyatt, and great-grandchildren Jonah, Elle, Rhone and Brylee, as well as her siblings Dale Peckenpaugh (Wanda), Shirley Gurksy, Harvey Peckenpaugh (Gina) and Arden Peckenpaugh (Marion). She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Wyatt, her second husband, Del Gursky and her parents, Florence and Charlie Peckenpaugh. After Myrna was born, they traveled back home to Wildwood, AB. In 1950, she moved back to Kinley, SK for 2 years before moving to Saskatoon where she completed her Gr. 9 and 10. She left school early to work and help support the family. As a girl she helped to care for her four siblings, was married when she was 18 to Howard Wyatt and eight years later had their first child, Kim. Nineteen short months later, they were blessed with their daughter Lorrie. Myrna and Howard started a successful business, Wyatt Plumbing & Heating in the mid 60’s. Howard passed in 1973. Myrna sold the business and raised her two children with family until she remarried in 1975. Myrna and Del built a beautiful home on the farm in the late 70’s. Myrna loved living on the farm and partaking in the many responsibilities that came with farm life, including three gigantic gardens and an orchard. Myrna and Del loved to entertain and she was an amazing host. They held many gatherings and always had more than enough food. Anyone who walked through her door was welcomed with open arms and were well fed when they left. Myrna took pride in her home, her friends and her family. Del passed in 2004. She remained on the farm until she moved into a house in Saskatoon in late 2005. After several years there, she moved into her condo where she made many new friends and enjoyed a myriad of activities. Myrna loved to travel; she visited places all over Canada, the United States, New Zealand, Australia and many tropical places as well. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, tractor pull competitions, camping, knitting, crafting, visiting the casino, fishing, cooking, playing cards, and spending time with her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Myrna’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon SK). For those unable to attend, webcasting will be available at www.windsorchapelsaskatoon.ca. A Private Family Interment will be held at Wheatfield Cemetery on Sunday, October 14, 2018.
