On October 25, 2019, Roy Labas, late of Saskatoon, formerly of Lestock passed away at Sherbrooke Community Centre at the age of 94. He was predeceased by his wife Olive; sons Leo and Mark; granddaughter Alexandra; great-granddaughter Lily; parents Joe and Helen Labas; brothers, Joe and John; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Selma; brothers-in-law, Ted and Bob. Roy is survived by his daughter Athen (Clifford); sons Gerry (Cathy), Ted (Leona) and Tom (Barb); daughter-in-law, Anita; grandchildren, Greg (Samantha), Chad (Lisa), Heidi (Stephen), Jill (Jeff), Nancy (Jason), Tyler (Tara), Jeremy, Lee (Dajana), Rob, Matthew (Jaimi) and Andi; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Beau, Olive, Jake, Sebastian, Ruby, Genevieve, Noah, Grady, Tanner, Ayla, Ivy, Esme, Liam, and Ada; two sisters, Marge and Ann; two brothers, George (Dean) and Ed (Gwen), and many nieces and nephews. Roy was born and raised in Lestock where he worked in the community before serving overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II. Roy married Olive Adolphe, and lived in Hamilton for a short period before returning to farm and work at the school in Lestock. With this passing, Lestock has lost a son. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church (535-8th St. E.) in Saskatoon. A service and interment will take place in Lestock, SK at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
