She is survived by the love of her life, Stan, her mother Jeanne, brother Doug (Jo-Anne), son Dan (Sharman) and 2 grandsons Hayden and Connor. Sandy took her nurses training in St. Elgin, ON and moved to Edmonton to work at Misericordia Hospital in 1968. They were married in 1969 in Edmonton and moved to Regina, and finally Saskatoon in 1976. Along the way they adopted their sons Dan in Calgary and Tim in Regina. While in this role she educated parents, health care workers and physicians on the many issues surrounding allergies and allergy diagnosis. Her duties involved talks to groups, radio and TV interviews and public education. She spent many years volunteering in her congregation including worship services and children’s ministry. She was employed by the Community of Christ Canada West Mission as an administrative assistant for a number of years before her retirement in 2010. Sandy had an amazing sense of humour and a deep compassion for people. She enjoyed camping with her family, the beauty of nature and music. She enjoyed several pastimes including, counted cross stitch, sewing, cooking and scrapbooking. She believed in community, being connected to neighbours and doing things because they were the right things to do. The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at The Community of Christ (701 1st St. E.) in Saskatoon. Casual attire is strongly encouraged!
