Shirley Johnetta Dubinski

Shirley Dubinski, loving wife and mother, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Saskatoon City Hospital. Left to mourn is her husband of 67 years, William; son Paul and daughter-in-law Victoria. She was predeceased by her parents John and Nettie; brothers Harold and Ivan; sisters Marjory, Ethel and Mary; and son Robert. Born on October 14, 1932 in Trenton, Ontario, Shirley was the youngest of the 6 children. At the age of 17 she met and married William and spent the next few years working as an accountant in the various cities to which William was posted by the military until they settled in Saskatoon. During this time she also brought up 2 sons that were the center of her life. She was formerly a member of the Daughters of the Nile and Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron for a term. She had a passion for polar bears and Rider football, especially Gainer the Gopher’s on-field antics and had an incredible green thumb. There will be a Private Family Interment Service held at the Columbarium at St. John’s in August. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9). Arrangements in care of Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
