 VIVIAN WYSHYNSKI

March 3, 1925 - May 3, 2018

Vivian passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Villa in Humboldt, SK at the age of 93.  Vivian is survived by her step sons Melvin Wyshynski (Laura Coghill) and Robert (Doreen) Wyshynski, and by Bruce (Maureen) Rodgers, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Vivian was predeceased by her husband Victor Wyshynski, parents, James and Iris Elliott, and siblings Ted (Vida) Elliott and Betty (Hugh) Crawford.  Vivian was born on the farm at Elstow and attended Elstow school.  She loved animals and many pictures of her as a child showed her holding a cat.  After graduating, Vivian went to eastern Canada to work.  In 1952 Vivian returned to Saskatchewan to help care for her father who was in failing health.  Vivian worked at Birks Jewellers and for many years in the Administration Department at the University of Saskatchewan. In 1973, Vivian married Victor Wyshynski.  They shared many interests among them, including a love of the outdoors. Each summer they looked forward to holidays spent north of Lac La Ronge, camping and fishing.  Vivian was a long time member of the Queen Esther Rebekkah Lodge. She was also an enthusiastic participant at the Cosmopolitan Seniors Centre in Saskatoon, and especially enjoyed the senior exercise classes.  Vivian remained in her own home for over 20 years after Vic’s passing and was always proud to tend her own garden and yard without outside help.  The last five years of Vivan’s life were spent at St. Mary’s Villa in Humboldt.  The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff there for the excellent care given to Vivian during her time there.  The Funeral Service celebrating Vivian’s Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor St., Saskatoon). Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan (301-2550-12th Ave Regina SK S4P 3X1).  Arrangements are in care of Aimé Laventure of MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICE (306) 978-5200 www.mourningglory.ca
