Obituary

Samletzki, Burgess Paul

March 16, 1959 – October 1, 2021

Burgess passed quietly at home with his family helping him find his way, after a brief but life altering battle with cancer. Burgess (Sammy) worked for CP Rail for 38 years making countless friends and memories along the way. After retirement he spent most of his summers at Lake Charron, even becoming the caretaker for a few years. The Park never had so many beautiful flowers. He definitely had a gardener's soul. Burgess loved the Caribbean and he and Karen enjoyed as much time there during the winter months as possible. Burgess will always be remembered for his igloo; an outside winter oasis for a few friends to gather during the covid 19 pandemic. Our own little getaway when no travel was possible. Burgess is survived by his partner Karen, Robert (Brenda and Drew), Paul (Angelina) Patrick (Savannah), Ashley (Mitch and Bailey) Kristy (Blair Taryn and Weston) and Sean (Brandi and Scarlett), his siblings Velma, Laura, Linda, Len, and Brian as well as countless nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Leon and Therese Samletzki. At this time, no funeral service will be held. Arrangements in care of Aimé Laventure – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
