November 16, 1924 - November 3, 2020
(Marion) Doris Graham passed away peacefully weeks before her 96th birthday, in the morning hours of November 3rd, 2020. Doris was predeceased by her husband George (1985), her son Mel (2018), her parents Alex and Gertrude Collins and her siblings: Joyce Goodbrand, Norma Bowler, Bruce Collins and Glenn Collins. Leaving to mourn her loss are her four other children Michael, Deborah, Gerry and Stewart as well as her eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris lived a long healthy active life. Born near the Gravelbourg area Doris grew up through tough times of the great depression and World War II. Running a busy household of five children with a husband who was often away from home working long hours on the railroad, Doris was no stranger to, nor ever shied away from hard work. Her strong work ethic, curiosity for life and feisty character carried her beyond running a household and in her middle-aged years became a proud recipient of a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Regina. In addition to her intellectual pursuits Doris was also active physically and socially her entire life. Whether it was on the sheets of ice throwing rocks on a curling rink in winter, on the lawn bowling pitches in summer or playing cards with friends Doris was always up for a laugh with family and friends and any friendly competition that may have went along with it. The family of Doris wants to send our sincerest of thanks and appreciation to the staff at Extendicare on Preston where Doris spent her final years. The entire staff showed to be very caring and kind people even when mom spoke her mind and let her feisty character shine. Doris will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made with to CNIB, an organization Doris cared a great deal about having cared for and seeing the struggles that came along with raising a blind child or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in care of Chelsea Krentz- Mourning Glory Funeral and Cremation Services www.mourningglory.ca (306)-978-5200.
