After 85 years of a very active life, filled with generosity and the love of her family, Hilda died peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon on March 13, 2020 after a courageous and heroic battle with cancer over the last 14 months.  Hilda is survived by her son, Paul (Lori) Soron, and their children, Kayla, Jordi (Kate), Jennifer Soron and her daughter, Roberta (Russell) Dobler, and their children, Alyssa (Kendall), and Nicole, and her 6 step children, Gerald (Cecilia), Don,  Barbara Berscheid (Bruce), Margaret Suik (Steve), Jim (Shannon) and John  (Darlene) and their families; and her two precious great-grand-daughters, Spencer and Isabella. She is also survived by her siblings Elsie Locker, Carl Rehman, Hertha Broschak, Margaret McNarland and sister-in-law Anne Rehman; and numerous nieces and nephews and her special friend Sarah Unruh. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Mike; her children’s father Robert Soron; her infant son John; her parents, Frank and Mary; brother Herman; sister Sr. Anne Marie OSU; brothers-in-law Frank Broschak, Ernie Locker, Murray McNarland; and stepdaughter-in-law Evelyn Sliva.  Hilda was born on June 1, 1934 to Frank and Mary Rehman of Macklin Sask.  In 1961, Hilda moved to Saskatoon and after completing a business course, she began working at St. Paul’s Hospital as Health Records Technician for 34 years.  In 1962, she married Robert Soron, and was blessed with three children, Paul, John and Roberta. One of her biggest hardships endured was the accident which took her son John’s life in 1965.  In 1998, she was blessed with her marriage to Mike Sliva.  They spent 16 happy years together, going on wonderful trips, playing cards, and dancing to old time music that they loved.   The family would like to give special thanks to Vicki Martin and the staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic, as well as all of the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital who helped her during her illness. Donations in memory of Hilda would be gratefully accepted by the Closer to Home Campaign (1702 20th Street West Saskatoon, SK, S7M 0Z9).
