Kenneth Boser

May 21, 2021

March 1954 - May 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Kenneth Robert Boser, at the age of 67. Ken died peacefully at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Friday, May 21, 2021. Ken was predeceased by his father, Alex and is survived by his loving mother, Madeline, brothers, Leonard (Linda), Dave (Nancy), Doug (Patti), and sisters, Linda (Lyndon), Donna (Mark), sons Shawn (Claudia), Jason (Myra) and his six beautiful grandchildren, Grace, Madeline, Vance, Rylie, Brooklyn & Brianna, his longtime friend Rose, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ken was born in Edmonton AB, but spent the majority of his young life in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He moved to Fort McMurray in 1972 and lived there for 30+ years. He was an active member of the community, where he volunteered for various charitable organizations such as the Fort McMurray Lion’s Club, where he eventually became the President of the Fort McMurray Chapter. Ken was also a member of the Local 955 Operating Engineers Union, where he worked as a Crane Operator for 40+ years. Ken will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving man who welcomed anyone with open arms. He loved playing horseshoes, cards and dice games and enjoyed listening to a variety of music (he always had music playing wherever he was). Most of all, Ken loved being in the company of family and friends. Ken’s last wish was that he did not want a funeral, but he wanted us to have “One hell of a party”! But in these difficult times, a “Celebration of Life” will be determined at a later date. In the meantime, we ask that you take a minute with friends and family, play his theme song, “We’re here for a good time, not a long time” (by Trooper) and raise a glass, shed a tear and share some memories and laughter with one another! That’s all Ken really wanted.

He said

We're here for a good time

Not a long time

So have a good time

The sun can't shine every day

And the sun is shinin'

In this rainy city

And the sun is shinin'

Oh, isn't it a pity

And every year, has it's share of tears

And every now and then it's gotta rain

We're here for a good time

Not a long time

So have a good time

The sun can't shine every day

(by Trooper)
