Obituary

VANDALE, Melvin Edward

It is with great sadness that the family of Melvin Vandale announce his passing, Monday, July 13, 2020 at the Age of 85. Melvin was born October 21, 1934 to Alice and Harry Vandale in Saskatoon and is survived by his wife of 60 years Myrna, his children Connie (Walter), Shelly ,Wendy (Guy), Brad (Deanna), 9 grandchildren Tandra, Angie, Ryan, Jordan, Quintyn (Daniella), Desiree, Wyatt, Jessica and Brody (Sarah) and 5 great-grandchildren Mason, Owen, Sephora, Ruby and Gabriella. We would also like to mention Doreen Roberts who became Dad’s companion in life until her passing. Melvin was predeceased by his mother Alice, father Harry and brothers Harry, Ernie, Gordon and Lionel. Melvin’s love for music was well known and he was part of a country and western dance band for most of his life (League of Nations). He loved the jam sessions with friends and tried to continue singing and playing right up to the end of his life. Melvin was a proud member of the United Association of Pipefitters Local 179 and was retired for almost 25 years. For those who knew Mel, he always had a story or tale to tell, and never knew if he was telling a true one or trying to pull your leg. Unfortunately at this time with the state in the world we are unable to have a proper celebration of life. We look forward to having a celebration in the near future. Arrangements in care of Travis Minor – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
