Pihach, Michalena “Emily” (nee Taciuk)
Mom passed away peacefully at Diamond House in Warman, SK on April 20, 2021 at the age of 92. She is survived by her children - David (Carol) and Richard, as well as grandchildren - Jeffrey (Taylor), Dana, Edward (Yvonne), Fay (Jeff), Cassidy, Kelsey, Sydney and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Mike and siblings - Bill, John, Nick, Fred, Peter, Olga and Anne. Emily, born to Dmytro & Wasilina Taciuk in Wakaw, SK on April 6, 1929, was the youngest of 8 children. She married the love of her life, Mike Pihach on October 5, 1947 in Wakaw. They soon moved to Saskatoon and built a new home where they welcomed David and Richard a few years later. Mom was a people person and enjoyed her years working at Paul’s Music and Book Supply and the Sheraton Cavalier. She loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. She truly was the life of the party! Mom loved to garden. Every year, marigolds & tulips bloomed in her front yard. As empty nesters, Mom & Dad moved to a condo and purchased a motor home that took them all over western Canada. Over time they changed to a 5th wheel trailer, parking it at Waskesiu and then McPhee Lake, where they enjoyed time with their grandchildren. Mom made her last move to Diamond House where she thrived in their care. She was able to once again carry on with her stories as there was always someone who would listen and engage in some laughter. Emily had an unforgettable spirit. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. A Come & Go Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive) in Saskatoon. Please share your remembrances of Emily.
